Cabin details

This is a rustic, cedar log cabin on the shore of Lake Superior. Its two-bedroom, one-bathroom, 1,100 sq ft footprint is perfect for a getaway with family or close friends. You’ll have a full, rustic kitchen perfect for cooking while you watch freighters pass by.

On the ground floor, there is one bedroom with a full-sized bed. Up one flight of stairs are open sleeping quarters: one walk-through bedroom with a queen bed that leads to a back room with two more double beds.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas range/oven, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, utensils, pots and pans plus olive oil, salt/pepper, and organic tea.

The half-bathroom includes a stall shower, toilet, and sink. Like many small cabins built during this era, there isn’t much room in the bathroom and the fixtures are a bit dated—a funny quirk we look forward to updating as we renovate!

Features

  • Beds: Three full size beds, one queen bed
  • Front porch with epic views of Lake Superior
  • Indoor, wood-burning fireplace

Sorry, no dogs are allowed in this cabin, but check out dog-friendly Cabin 5 if you want to bring Fido.

Covid Precautions:  We are following CDC-approved cleaning guidelines. We ask that if you are not feeling well or are having any symptoms to please reschedule your stay & help protect our small community.

Before you stay with us, please note: Many of our cabins are rustic and small — part of being built over 75 years ago. Know that while we try hard to keep these spaces in great shape, some are a bit tired in spite of our homey touches. The grounds are grand and picturesque but also rocky and uneven. If you have mobility challenges, we recommend considering other accommodations.

Mosquitos, black flies, spiders, birds, snakes, mice, squirrels, eagles, deer, bears…. You’re in the woods – there’s a good chance you’ll see one or more from the list. We do not refund – or charge extra 🙃 for sightings.

What our guests say

Perfect for our family of 5

This cabin was the perfect place for our family of 5 to stay during our recent trip to Copper Harbor! The cabin is super comfortable and well stocked with cooking ware. There was enough room for everyone. We got to start our days sipping coffee and watching the waves from the front porch. The kids loved ending their day splashing in the waves on the beach. The hostess is amazing, friendly, and helpful. I highly recommend this location!!

Heaven on earth

If you love Lake Superior or want to fall in love with Lake Superior, spend some time at Fresh Coast. The cabin matches the ambiance of the spectacularly natural setting that it is placed in. It’s comfy, convenient, unplugged, unassuming because-why be fancy schmancy when you are in heaven on earth. We fell asleep to the sound of the waves every night and, when we were worried about being too boisterous, the Lake provided a sound wall. We were able to turn out some great meals in the adequate kitchen. There was plenty of room for our crew of five with two other family members and a baby joining us to visit during the day. Jason and Lynn were warm, welcoming and always there to help if we needed anything.

A great experience

The cabin has lovely views of Lake Superior. It is small, but worked great for our family group of 6, was functionally designed and equipped, and was overall a great experience for us. We enjoyed the personal touches like an analog tape player, guidebook to the area, flowers. Private rocky beach.
