Suite Details
Watch the northern lights from bed through a wall of windows facing Lake Superior. This 1,000 sq ft suite was fully remodeled to offer all the creature comforts of home. In this second-floor space, you’ll find two spacious bedrooms featuring king size beds, one large bathroom and a soaking tub. The Aurora Major Suite is located on the top floor of our main building and has some of the best views on the property.
The fully stocked kitchen includes everything you’ll need to cook and enjoy meals. Including a gas range/oven, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, utensils, pots and pans plus olive oil, salt/pepper and organic tea.
Note: The suite is accessed via private stairs which are located on the side of the main building. Guests will climb approximately 14 steps (split into two levels) to access this second-floor space. Sorry, no dogs are allowed in Aurora Major, but check out dog-friendly Cabin 5 if you want to bring Fido.

Before you stay with us, please note: Many of our cabins are rustic and small — part of being built over 75 years ago. Know that while we try hard to keep these spaces in great shape, some are a bit tired in spite of our homey touches. The grounds are grand and picturesque but also rocky and uneven. If you have mobility challenges, we recommend considering other accommodations.
Mosquitos, black flies, spiders, birds, snakes, mice, squirrels, eagles, deer, bears…. You’re in the woods – there’s a good chance you’ll see one or more from the list. We do not refund – or charge extra 🙃 for sightings.

Number one place to stay
We stayed in the Aurora Major Suite! Newly remodeled and beautiful with the best views of Lake Superior! If you are lucky enough to be there on a Friday night, you can meet others staying on the property during the pizza social – we thought it was great as we would run into our new acquaintances on the property or in town and hear about their adventures/get ideas of things to do. I really can’t say enough good things about the property, and it will be my number one place to stay when I get back that way! Thanks for the great stay!

Lynn and her entire team are the best hosts and they put so many special touches into the beautiful Aurora Suite. Came here for our anniversary having never been to the area and the guides/recommendations they provided were phenomenal. Waking up to the lake view was a dream. We were thankful for some windy weather the last day just so we had an excuse to hang inside and enjoy the space and coastline that the cabins sit on. You can set the vibe inside with the surround sound speakers, cook in the awesome kitchen, then walk right out to enjoy the deck, fire pit, and watch Lake Superior during the day or stargaze on a clear night. We loved this place and am so glad we splurged – 1000% worth it!

We had an amazing stay at Fresh Coast Cabins! It’s the perfect place to get away from everything. We stayed in the Aurora Major Suite and loved it so much! It was delightful and cozy with a perfect view of Superior and the northern sky.
